Default Houses and stuff

i just got an idea and i thought it would be cool. well i know some people who play starwars galaxies and they have told me that you can have a guild hall for your guild obviously, and you could also have a house for yourself. i just thought it would be cool. i like the idea of having your own house it would be like a new money sink for us. so anet would be happy. and then so we could waste even more gold, they could make it to where we could buy upgrades for it. like new chairs, beds, couches, and stuff like that. and maybe the more money you spend on it like the bigger the house you get. i think it would be cool to have a really big castle that i could invite my friends over to and throw parties and stuff. well that is my suggestion tell me what you think.

Possibly, but I know from my perspective, if I buy skills and armor for anymore of my characters, I won't have any more gold to sink.

What would be the purpose of having a house?

sounds good but would it work like a guild hall like you have to buy a special type of sigil and stuff to buy it? and you can tour the house such as a hall before buying it?

well zui, the purpose is for fun lol... u kno the reason we play gw...
also this is a good idea, but it would make GW a lot mroe complex and i think if they did this, it would be FARRRRR in the future, or they will change GW to P2P which i dotn see happenineg, so.. i dotn really think they will do this

Allow me to be more specific in my question:

How would adding this enhance gameplay in a positive way, without radicaly changing the game structure?

If anyone can explain how this would enhance both PvP and PvE gameplay in a positive and constructive way, without radicaly changing the entire game or being nearly pointless from a gameplay standard, then you'll probably get a /signed. But considering as you can't do that, it'll remain /unsigned. Oh, and a possible way to impliment this would be good too, since even if it would enhance the entire game in a positive way, if it's unimplimentable it'll never happen.

i also dont think they will do it i was just hoping because it would be cool. i myself played starwars galaxies and it works really well. like if you dont want to hang out with your guild at the guild hall then you could go to your own house and just hang out on your own. and you could put some gold into buying new items for you house. and maybe even dye them so you could have like a red couch and stuff. and who knows maybe anet could even make a storage chest so you could have more storage room. you could have your normal xunlai account and also a little spare chest on the side at your house. well i dont know i just thought it sounded cool. imagine a big castle on the edge of a lake or river in the middle of a big forest. it would look so cool. then you could invite everyone over and be like "oh yeah look at my house." and everyone will be jealous.....lol.......

the trouble is that Galaxies takes place on numerous planets, all with wide open, free spaces, so you literally picked your house location.

FFXI also has houses I believe, but you enter form the same location as other peolpe enter theirs, its almsot like a customisable instance sort of thing.

The latter is probably the tactic Anet would have to use, as there simply isnt the space for a player to construct a house out in the open (plus with instances etc it wouldnt work), but I think a house would be a novel idea, our characters do need somewhere to live eventually, and there is a worrying lack of places that look like houses.

/Signed only if the furniture is removed during GvG's/Scrims and only Officers & the Leader may modify the guild hall.

Being a Veteran of Star Wars Galaxies, Guild Halls (known as Player Association Halls) we're a really nice feature of SWG. you could decorate your Guild Hall and do massive decorations. The Guild i was in had made a huge table that we all sat around that had like 30 chairs and 1 Master chair for the guild leader of the guild where we would meet to discuss Guild Issues.

Only downsides i see are.. Possible Item's Disappearing, and how we would get furniture... a couch would be like 150 wood and 250 cloth and like 10k.

too bad SWG sucks now though....

you... hmmm.... this idea sounds expensive... well, expensive to meet up with GW reputation

Having houses will explain where your characters go when you're not online. I like it when things add up.

Now we just need a reason why NPC's are awake 24/7^^.

for the people that thought i was talking about customizing guild halls. i wasnt although that would be a good idea in itself. i was talking about having like your own house. like a guild hall but just for you. and you could invite your friends over and have parties and stuff. kind of like what someone else posted earlier...it would be like a "customizable instance"...(i would of quoted the person who said it but i am in a hurry.) lol i just want a castle like house on the edge of a body of water in the middle of a forest. it would look so cool.

and Terra about the NPC's being awake 24/7...the answer is simple...they just drink alot of coffee....duh i thought everyone knew that....lol

It might be neat to have a house for your char and your guild hall to show activity like a little town or something...but why do you want to turn that into a money sink? This is not the Sims (EA Games)

i tried to search for this topic but the search engine was down so i made my own....and about the money sink thing. i just thought it would be great for us to have something else to spend our money on so when we beat the game we dont just stand around complaining about nothing to spend our money on....i know not everyone does that but i have ran into alot of people who do.

it sounds a little like a 6 year old game like "o lets go make a little house" or if uve ever heard of club penguin...haha

also like that other guy said, its not the sims, this is a game where u KILL things, not caring about your "little cottage" with all ur little furniture. sry if im making u feel bad. if i was my little sister or one of her friends (like they wood play this game) than i wood think that that was a great idea. overall it wood most likely appeal to girls and younger children.
